Frequently Asked Questions

Will this mount fit my TV?
All DM mounts support both flat panel and curved TVs that have mounting hole patterns from 7.1” (180mm) to 27.2” (692mm) wide and up to 22.3” (566mm) high. This includes VESA mounting hole patterns 200×100, 200×200, 300×200, 300×300, 400×300, 400×200 400×400, 600×200, 600×300, 600×400 (Width x Height, in mm).

We have also verified the LG trapezoidal hole pattern with our Down and Out mounts. If in doubt, contact us at support@dynamicmounting.com with your TV’s specs and we can verify for you.

With respect to weight capacities, the Down and Out standard and swivel mounts can support from 20 to 125 lbs. The Down and Out Lite can support from 15 to 75lbs. The Up and Over mounts can support from 20 to 120 lbs.

NOTE: For TVs that are under 23.6″ tall the mount may be taller than the TV in the top position.

What is the difference between the Down and Out Standard Swivel and Lite mount?
The Lite is a simpler version of our Down and Out Swivel Standard mount with the major difference being overall weight capacity. has a lower weight capacity of 15 to 70 lbs., does not have adjustable tilt, and does not have different swivel settings. We have a line by line comparison of the two mounts here.
Do you offer shipping to International customers?
We currently accept on-line orders from Canada and the United Kingdom. If purchasing from another location we can provide a quote, just contact us at support@dynamicmounting.com with your address.
Are paintable covers included?
Paintable covers are included for all mounts except the Down and Out Lite. The Lite mount includes black plastic covers for the lag screws with punch out slots to help the mount blend in.
Can the mount be installed on brick or stone?
Yes. Brick or stone does not affect the mount but we do not supply the masonry hardware required. While we do supply the lag screws necessary for attaching to wood studs, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the wall is strong enough to support the TV.

The same is true when installing the mount on your brick or stone surface; it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the brick/stone structure is strong enough to support the TV. We recommend special brick/concrete anchors (example: http://www.mcmaster.com/#brick-anchors/=llbka0 ).

We recommend you use ½″ Diameter with threads of 3/8″-16 and head width of 9/16″. Be sure to use a washer with an OD of 1″. Be sure to use a proper ½ “drill bit for masonry surfaces. Be sure to drill to the proper depth of the lag bolt, or alternatively, you can use a high strength toggle anchor (example: http://www.mcmaster.com/#97802a317/=vslqia). We suggest using at least 3 of these in the top row; these anchors are the ones that do most of the work.

To drill into the stone/brick you will probably need a special drill called a hammer drill, which you can rent from the hardware store along with the correct size bit. Using the hammer drill is just as easy as using a regular drill. After you have the hammer drill and anchors installed you can follow the same instructions for wood stud mounting.

What is the difference between the Down and Out and Up and Over mounts?
The Down and Out mounts are hidden in the top position and then move down to a lower position; they are ideal for fireplaces, patios, and over windows. The Up and Over mounts are hidden in the bottom position and then move up to a higher position; they are ideal for below windows, on half-walls, or in cabinets. Both mounts use the same base assembly (which is the bulk of the mount) and handle the same size TV’s, so to change from one to the other you just need a different set of TV attach arms.
What is the thickness of the Down and Out line of mounts?
The Down and Out Standard mount is 4.2” deep in the top position and the Swivel version is 3.75” to 5.4” deep, depending on the mount type and swivel setting.
What is the thickness of the Up and Over line of mounts?
The Up and Over mount is 5.1” deep in the bottom position and the Swivel version is 5.3” to 6.3” deep, depending on the swivel setting.
What is the difference between the Down and Out Standard and the Swivel version?
Both mounts have the same up/down travel, mantel clearances and weight capacities. However, the swivel mount has the extra ability to swivel left or right in any position. Keep in mind the Down and Out Standard mount is 4.2” deep in the top position and the Swivel version is 3.75” to 5.4” deep, depending on the mount type and swivel setting.
What is the difference between the Up and Over mount and the swivel version?
Both mounts have the same up/down travel, ledge clearances and weight capacities. However, the swivel mount has the extra ability to swivel left or right in any position. Keep in mind the Up and Over mount is 5.1” deep in the bottom position and the Swivel version is 5.3” to 6.3” deep, depending on the swivel setting.
